Class, here is a brief summary for this chapter:
Lily and Rosaleen fell asleep alongside a tree in a field on their way to find the honey. They have slept half the morning away and still not fully awake. Roseleen was snoring and drooling, while Lily was awake thinking about her mother and the picture she had of the black Virgin Mary. Lily finally awoke Rosaleen and they started to get a move on with their day. Lily was thinking that it would be easy to find a place to stay or to eat but Rosaleen turned that down telling Lily that she’s with a black lady and people don’t take kindly to blacks. Even after the Civil Rights Act. Lily found food for them at a local general store and stole a can of snuff. She saw the honey on the wall and asked about it. She found out where the honey farm was located and how to get there. Then they bought a newspaper to see if they were in it for being lost or runaways.

ReplyDeleteAfter a long day from running away from home lily and roslaeen runs into a general store for food. and she had to steal some food because she basically had no money, but she did see something on the wall saying a little something about the black virgin mary. so lily wanted to kno where was the place located. so they walked until they found the house and one of the sisters came and open the door so lily lied and said she wanted to buy some honey, but when august came out lily switched the story around but rosaleen was bout to tell the truth but lily took over and said they needed a place to stay for a while cus her guardiance pass..
ReplyDeleteBefore the long trial on the road to find the black virgin Mary, Rosaleen got into an altercation with some white men and she poured her spit bottle on them. In turn left her in a sort of hospital jail. Lily on the other hand, had issues at home with her father. So Lily decided to run away from home and help rescue Rosaleen from the hospital. On the way , Rosaleen ask Lily what's her plan and she pulled out a picture of her mother. Rosaleen said to her, that's all you have to go on? A few more words were passed and then they got into an argument. As they kept walking to who knows where, they stopped at a store and Lily saw a jar of honey in the window with a black virgin Mary on it. Lily asked where she can find the person who makes it and the man gave them directions. After traveling some more, they came up on a pepto bismal pink house, with women residing inside. Lily and Rosaleen told them their story and the lady took them in to work for food.
ReplyDeleteThe summuary bascially talks about Ms.rosaleen and lily lourney to find the roots of her dead mother. Wnen they were to the voting place for ms. Rosaleen to vote she had got into a controfronation with the three white men. Because of that, she had ended in jail and then her life was put in severy danger
ReplyDeleteIn Chapter 3 scene with the creek continues. After Lily wakes up Rosaleen they start to walk on the road in search of the city of Tiburon, food and a place to stay until they could figure out what to do. Once they arrive in the town Lily goes into the general store to get them some food and to get Rosaleen some snuff. The chapter concludes with Lily looking at a newspaper to see if anything about her an Rosaleen was in there. She was satisfied to find nothing there about them.
ReplyDeletelily had just broke rosaleen out of the hospital they ran away to find out anything about her mother. rosaleen didnt know this. lily told her when they got to tiburon south carolina. rosaleen was mad because lily did all this for a blank mission. but they went to town an saw a jar of honey in a store window. it had the virgin marry on it lily asked the man about it an he gave her directions to the place. lily and rosaleen went there ass they were just getting out of there church hour. asked if they could stay and pay by working.
